A selection of poems spiritual poems I have written that expresses the loss of a loved one Followed by an answer which may help some too. written by Annielise Stone
I KNEW THAT YOU WERE GOING
I knew that you were going,
I was told that you would leave,
Time was just a number
I did not want to believe.
I knew it was not forever
Everyone say’s so
But I was not quite ready
For you, to leave and go.
The memories flashed right past me
As if I was in a dream
Waiting for the moment
My heart, the silent scream
Others have had this pain
Some do not know when they will go
You I knew from the beginning
The time I could not stop
The waiting for the ending
The stopping, of the clock.
Your no longer here they say
It time for me to leave
Can they get you someone?
Can they move you on?
There are others that are waiting
They have to clear the space
The minutes seem like hours
Since you left the room
You went on with out me
Time taken from me to soon
I knew that you were going
I was told that you would leave
Time is just a number
Now I had to believe
THE PROMISE
The promise I made because I was going
We both knew I would leave
Time my darling is a number
Now just believe
Looking into your heart you will find the key
I am here just waiting for you to believe
Can you see the wind?
NO but you can feel it
Just because you can’t see me does not mean I am not there
Can you hear a feather drop or high pitch whistle of sound?
No but you can see it.
Just because you can’t hear me you’re not listening to your heart.
Can you reach out and touch me?
No but I will reach out and touch you.
Just because you can’t touch me does not mean I am not there
I will find away to show you I’m here
So just for today close you eyes and open your heart
Feel my love and know we are not apart.
Can you trust me?
Yes I will find away to let you know I am here
With you every day I watch when you fall asleep
I wipe away your tears I hold you close.
I listen to your every breath.
I am keeping my promise
